Yoga Workshop: Down Dog

I have been guiding yoga for 8 years now. WOW. If you would have told me 10 years ago that this would be my path I wouldn't have believed you. Daily, I am in awe of the choices I made that led me to the life I get to live now.

Even though all 7 of the trainings I've taken have made a huge mark on where I am now, my first Yoga Teacher Training takes the cake.

My original 200 hour Yoga Alliance course started the path of what categories I REALLY love! It's clear that I enjoy learning, and over time it's become evident that I love sharing what I've learned. After all, I have had some very intricate knowledge passed down from incredible teachers during my years as a yogi.

I designed my Yoga Workshop Series for the "old me" because I know what it's like to step into a studio and take class after class and have so many questions but no space to ask them.

Think about it... you go to a studio to take a class. The yoga space in which you take classes is a sacred place, a quiet place. There is no pause to ask questions, so most of the time you hear a few cues and see the person next to you doing postures. More than likely, that person saw another person and mimicked them. And so the vicious circle goes.

I've already seen so much growth through these workshops and something that makes them so unique is the fact that they can be done from ANYWHERE. Yup, in the comfort of your own home.

I'll be sharing 3 of the biggest takeaways, per posture, right here on my blog so that you can refer back to them.

Let's start with one of the most common: downward dog.

PLANT YOUR HANDS AND ALL 10 FINGERS EVENLY INTO THE EARTH

IT'S OK IF YOUR HEELS DON'T TOUCH DOWN

MAINTAIN A LONG SPINE, HOLD YOUR HEAD NEUTRAL, SOFT BEND IN THE KNEES IS OK.
