Best Farmers Markets in San Diego

Even though I feel like it is currently freezing in San Diego I still love this place. I especially love North County San Diego with all of the cute coffee shops, healthy options to eat, beautiful hikes, fitness studios and sooo much more! Hint Hint- get ready for more blogs about SD!

One of my favorite things to do in our gem of a city is to hit up a Farmers Market.

The Farmers markets here in San Diego are year-round and most markets change their hours to reflect daylight savings time. There are countless farmers at each market with the freshest veggies, which makes it hard to choose so I usually stop at all of them. I love all of the specialty vendors with their creative endeavors and tasty vegan treats. If you arrive hungry to the market you can always find a scrumptious bite to eat as well as a kombucha to sip on! It feels like Disney Land to me.

Here are my two favorite North County Farmers Markets:

The Leucadia Farmers Market:

This is my all-time favorite Market! It is held on Sundays’ from 10am until 2pm. This Market is very popular and if you don’t go right when it opens it can be hard to find parking. They are also sticklers about starting on time so you won’t be let in the gates at the Paul Ecke School until it is 10am on the dot.

The Carlsbad Village Farmers Market:

I like the vibe at this Market because of the location as well as all of the life happening around at the bordering restaurants and shops. They close off State Street in The Village every Wednesday from 3pm-6pm and you can find street parking or at the train station. You can get a bite with the vendors or get an outside table at one of the many restaurants.

My “MUST VISIT” vendors at the Market are:

Lath House Gardens Microgreens: the guy who snips the greens is so incredible kind and funny. You can tell he loves what he does! Plus, these are freshly cut and there are soooo many to choose from! I like the wellness blend.

JR Organics: They have the best radishes and I get most of my produce from them!

Bitchin Sauce: This is basically Almond Hummus made right here in Carlsbad. Curry is my favorite and pepita is a close second. They run out fast so hit them up first.

Da-Le Ranch: If you eat meat I urge you to go local and purchase from these guys. If you make bone broth from scratch (I just started doing this with my instant pot and will share the recipe soon) you can buy chicken or beef bones.

Gypsy Crumbs: This boss babe has a super inspiring story and her vegan treats are some of the best I’ve ever had!

Baba Foods: There are something like 30 flavors to choose from and it’s a smoking deal at 3 for $12. Try the fiery feta if you like spicy. They are very generous with the samples so try them all.

Spice Lady: She is the cutest and loves to create her concoction of spices. You can’t go wrong with her garlic salt and if you like spice her habanero salt is soooo good on curry.

Plant Guy: I’m not sure of the business name but this guy has the most beautiful jungle that he brings with him every week. If you like plants buy from him and not home depot. He knows what he is doing and has the most fascinating variety.
