A Quick Stop in Rosemary Beach, Florida

The area known as 30A is a collection of little beach towns along highway 30-A between Destin and Panama City Beach, Florida. A good friend of mine, Sarah, recommended checking it out when we drove across the country back in 2021 to spend a month in Florida to find some sunshine and freedom during the “wild days”.

Even though I think the beach by my house in Siesta Key is the MOST beautiful beach, I have to say that the Emerald Coast of Florida is STUNNING! On my latest travel driving across the country and back home to Florida, I took a week here to get off of the road after 3 long days. I choose long driving days so that I could get to a place I felt comfortable and get some work done (thank goodness for the remote life). I stayed in an airbnb within walking distance to the beach in Rosemary Beach. You can find the link here as the location was perfect!

You should know that a huge portion of the beach off of the 30A is private and gated. Unfortunately, my place did not have an access card to the beach so I hopped a few fences :) There are also public beaches that I discovered here and would highly recommend if you don’t mind driving. The parking is also free— Bless the Free State of Florida! While I mostly got caught up on work I did take time to do my favorite things— be in the sunshine, go to yoga and eat!

Yoga at Myst Yoga 30A was good, I took both a vinyasa and a sculpt class. It was heated to about 90 and both instructors had a good sense of constructing their individual sequences. They were both very friendly and encouraging during class. Both had good music and the sculpt instructor had done her training at CPY (this is a huge plus in my opinion). Check it out here!

There is just something about the South. Gosh, I love the manners! Yes ma’am , please and thank you are just EVERYTHING to me and this area is all about the manners. Each morning I walked to Fonville Press Market which was half a mile from where I was staying. It was ascetically pleasing and had plenty to choose from. While it wasn’t the best food I’ve had in my life it was perfect to sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy the life moving about.

If you like fish (yup, remember I don’t have any rules with my food, I just mostly eat veggies LOL) I would recommend Buddy’s Seafood Market. It is an actual fish market and you can choose something like shrimp or lobster and they will cook it for you. I also found some jalapeño hushpuppies and remolaude in the freezer section and they were AMAZING! There is also a local kombucha from Noli South I got that was delicious!!

If you love white sand and emerald colored water, sunshine and manners I think you'll enjoy a visit to the 30A. Always happy to help with any questions or planning!
